XEOMIN®  – Austin Wrinkle Treatment

Xeomin (pronounced zee-oh-min) is a new, FDA-approved cosmetic injectable for use in patients with facial wrinkles. Similar to Botox and Dysport, Xeomin contains neurotoxins that work by relaxing facial muscles that cause wrinkles. Unlike its predecessors however, Xeomin does not contain additives, which decreases the likelihood of patients developing antibodies against the product.

Xeomin is approved for the temporary improvement in the appearance of crow’s feet and glabellar lines. Glabellar lines (often referred to as frown lines) are the vertical lines that resemble the number 11 which become visible between the eyebrows when a person frowns.

Xeomin treatments usually take anywhere from 10 – 20 minutes to administer and results are visible as early as 3 – 4 days after treatment. In clinical trials, the typical duration of the effect lasted up to 3 months, however results may last longer depending on the individual patient.
